Changing Directions
Life doesn’t always follow the path we imagine. At some point, many of us find ourselves standing at a crossroads, whether by choice or circumstance, realizing the direction we’ve been heading no longer feels right. Changing course can feel daunting, especially when we’ve invested time, energy, or even our identity in one version of our future.
But shifting directions isn’t failure, it’s growth.
Choosing a new path means listening to that quiet voice inside that says, this isn’t working anymore. It requires courage to admit that what once fit no longer does. Whether it’s a career change, ending a relationship, or simply rethinking what happiness means to you, starting over is an act of self-respect.
The hardest part is often the in-between, that uncertain space where the old life doesn’t fit but the new one isn’t clear yet. It’s uncomfortable, but it’s also where possibility lives.
If you’re feeling the pull to change directions, trust that instinct. You’re allowed to outgrow dreams. You’re allowed to want something different. Life isn’t meant to be a straight line, it’s a series of pivots, pauses, and new beginnings.
The best part? You get to decide what comes next.
“The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps”.
Proverbs 16:9
