Maybe It Isn’t Too Good to Be True
We’ve all heard the phrase.
“If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.”
And yes, sometimes that wisdom protects us.
It keeps us from scams, bad deals, and things that aren’t what they appear to be.
But lately I’ve been wondering something.
How many people have walked away from something beautiful because of that sentence?
How many opportunities…
friendships…
dreams…
moments of joy…
were dismissed because they felt too good?
Sometimes life surprises us.
Sometimes a door opens that we didn’t expect.
Sometimes someone shows kindness we didn’t think we deserved.
Sometimes a path appears that looks almost perfect for where we are in life.
And instead of stepping forward, we step back.
We hesitate.
We question it.
We talk ourselves out of it.
“It must not be real.”
“It won’t last.”
“There has to be a catch.”
But what if, every once in a while, the good thing really is just… good?
What if the opportunity really is meant for you?
What if the friendship is genuine?
What if the chance you’ve been hoping for finally shows up?
Of course we should be wise.
Of course we should pay attention.
But maybe we shouldn’t let fear make every decision for us.
Because sometimes the thing that feels “too good to be true”
is simply the thing you’ve been waiting for.
And you’ll never know
unless you’re willing to take a step toward it.
Just once in a while.
Maybe the next time something in your life feels a little too good to be true…
pause before you walk away.
It might just be the thing life has been quietly saving for you.

Just a few thoughts out loud as I write them…
in case someone else needed them today.
