Obstacle- a thing that blocks one’s way or prevents or hinders progress.

Ever feel like every path you take is somehow blocked or at the very least has debris laying in the way, like some storm blew in and just left a mess everywhere? At every turn obstacles are hindering your progress on the way to where you’re going. You want to get there; you need to get there, but it just seems impossible. We’ve all witnessed, either in person or through some media source, first responders reacting to tragedies. Whether it be a storm or some horrible accident, they push through to get the job done. The only choice for them is simply to keep going.

You are a first responder in your life and maybe the only responder at times. Sometimes it feels like the easy thing to do would be to just stop or turn around and go back to where we were, but if we did that every time something got in our way we’d never get anywhere. You may not always have someone telling you to keep going. Unfortunately, the only support you may have is you. In those times, you have to be the hero of your story. You have to be the motivation for you.

For me, the obstacles are almost invariably in my mind. Prior failures, that instead of me leaving them in the past where they belong, end up being resurrected to cause failure in my present. Sometimes I’m haunted by the voices of people who should have had my best interest but chose their own personal comfort instead. Perhaps they shouldn’t have had a voice in my life at all. People let us down, even the ones we’d never expect. We even let ourselves down from time to time. It just happens.

I’m not sure what’s in the way of you achieving your objective, but you have to keep moving forward. If you have to stop and look around for a moment to find a clearer path, then do it but keep going when you find it. If you have to climb over debris do that. Don’t let obstacles stop you from living the life you deserve! You’ve got this. You are the best person for the job. You are the most qualified to get you where you want to be. Nothing, no matter how big the obstacle, can prevent you from reaching your destination.
