Filling In Holes

Driving home today I passed a construction crew patching pot holes in the road. Some of these holes I’ve probably driven around more times than I can count. Holes that, if you hit them just right, could pop a tire or worse yet cause a serious accident. So it was nice to see them finally getting the repairs that were long overdue. It definitely makes for a much safer drive, and properly done, can last a good long while.
Much like the potholes on the roadway our lives sometimes have holes that need patching. Life just sometimes leaves us beat up and worn down; holes form where we were once solid. Most of us will ignore the holes or just drive around them while they get bigger and bigger. But just like the holes in the road these holes need patching before it emotionally causes a popped tire or major crash.
Whatever the cause, whether it be from simple fatigue from the constant wear from working, living, some tragedy, or unexpected situation that you’re going through, you need to patch the holes left behind. Just remember much like the construction crew that have several workers, sometimes we need help to fix the damage. If you want a construction crew to patch you up you may have to seek it out. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Don’t be afraid to put in the work to patch the holes. In the long run, it’s worth it.
Here’s to a smooth ride with less potholes.
