We all need a minute every now and then. Right? I mean life these days, it’s busy. I don’t care who you are or where you live, life moves at a pace that’s hard to keep up with, especially if you are exhausted and burned out. You need time for you. You and only you. I know that may sound selfish, but it doesn’t change the fact that it’s true. I know for some it’s easier said than done, and for a lot of us we can make excuses as to why it’s not possible, but I’m here to tell you that you need to make it happen, somehow someway. Maybe it’s just you going for a coffee at Starbucks or to Dairy Queen for an ice cream or maybe just a walk in the park to feed the ducks. Whatever it is that can re-energize you and give you a fresh clear head, do it. I do understand that some have difficult circumstances, like being a single parent with little or no support, and for those of you out there, I pray for life to give you a break.
In fact I was reading just tonight about many church and civic groups around the country that have mommy and daddy day out programs that will watch your kids while you take a min and take care of you. Now I’m no expert by any stretch, and I wouldn’t dare tell someone to drop their kids off with strangers, but I’m just floating ideas in case you need them.
Point being: most of the time a solution can be found to spend time taking care of you, at least every once in a while. You need you to be healthy, both physically and mentally, and part of that is taking the time to take care of you. We all need a minute to recharge, because when we don’t we punish ourselves and everyone around us. So take a minute, work it out, go find what recharges you, and enjoy yourself. You are the only you that you have. So take care of you.
